Metropolitan Window Fashions Opens Hunter Douglas Gallery in NYC

New York, NY

Metropolitan Window Fashions, located at 469 Amsterdam Avenue between 82nd and 83rd Street, has opened an exclusive Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery with an expanded display of custom and motorized shades, blinds, sheers, shutters and draperies. Included are full-size functional window treatments highlighting PowerView, the newest APP for automated technology from Hunter Douglas which allows customers to use their smartphone or tablet to control the shades and blinds from inside or outside their home.

To celebrate this Grand Opening Event, owners Bruce and Margaret Heyman hosted an elegant champagne party on Friday evening, October 14th for customers, industry reps, business neighbors, staff, family and friends. In attendance were members of Hunter Douglas’s executive team including Ron Kass, CEO and president, North America; Randy Liken, president Fabrication Division, Angelo Franco, general sales manager, Nadine D’Amore, regional sales manager and Katherine Rumbaugh and Rich Fulham, district sales managers.

Serving its Upper West Side clientele since 2004, the store is a Hunter Douglas authorized shade and blind repair center and provides free Shop-At-Home decorating service. “We have a great team who are highly trained to provide solutions to all your window fashion and furniture re-upholstery needs,” cites Bruce Heyman. “Our service is based on ‘old school’ principles and we thrive on our ‘repeat’ business.”

Two other Metropolitan Window Fashions stores – in Paramus and North Plainfield, New Jersey – also house the Hunter Douglas Galleries. These independent family-owned home furnishings establishments have been in business for over 82 years – serving the tristate area with the finest in custom window treatments, fabrics and upholstery.
